BOUESTI TO ENFORCE APPROVED DRESS CODE

Authorities of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti, have vowed to enforce the new dress code for students to maintain decency in the institution. The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa gave the hint while declaring open the two days leadership retreat organised for officials of the Students’ Union Government. Adeoluwa remarked that the University remained a breeding ground for highly disciplined and responsible students and would not tolerate the bug of indecent dressing and shabby appearances engulfing campuses of tertiary institutions nationwide under the guise of fashion in vogue.

He emphasized that the students’ leaders have critical roles to play in maintaining peace and stability on campus and must therefore be on top of their game. The Vice Chancellor solicited the cooperation of the leadership of the Students’ Union at ensuring that students complied with the policies and regulations of the institution.

He urged them to stay true to their vision and manifestoes as that would guide them in successfully piloting the affairs of the union, adding that the University Management would give them all the necessary support they would need to succeed in office.

In his remarks, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr Dokun Ajayi stated that the leadership retreat was packaged to broaden their knowledge on effective leadership and responsibilities. He advised them to be of good conduct always without losing focus on their studies.
