BOUESTI Receives TETFund Delegation, Seeks Enlistment Among Benefiting Institutions

A three man delegation from the Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETFUND), Abuja has visited the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technoloy, Ikere-Ekiti on an assessment tour of the University preparatory to its formal enlistment as one of the benefitting Universities of the TETFund intervention scheme. The leader of the delegation, Mallam Yahaya Yakubu disclosed that the team was in the institution to verify the claims and documents submitted by the University in line with the standard benchmarks of the Agency. He posited that the case of the institution was a College of Education that has transmuted to a University and expressed optimism that the institution would scale the hurdle.

While welcoming the delegation, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Olufemi Adeoluwa lauded TETFund for its immense contributions to improving the standard of public tertiary institutions in Nigeria such as massive infrastructural upgrade, Library intervention, capacity building, sponsorship of research related activities and the likes. He noted that the institution drew tremendous benefits from the various intervention schemes of TETFund as a College of Education, hence, the need to continue in that stead now that it has become a University.

Professor Adeoluwa called on the team to do their job contentiously and ensure that the institution is favourably considered.
