Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) has recorded a historic and dazzling performance at the just-concluded 27th Nigerian University Games, its first-ever appearance since the University was established only five years ago.

Against all odds and ahead of several long-established and well-known Universities in Nigeria, BOUESTI clinched an impressive 4 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals, securing 18th position on the overall medals table.

The University’s athletes displayed exceptional grit, talent and competitive spirit across multiple events

BOUESTI won gold medal in Handball (Female), Judo (48kg), Tennis (Female Singles) and Tennis (Female Doubles). The University won a silver medal in Tennis (Mixed Doubles) and bronze medals in Judo (78kg), Badminton (Male Singles) and Table Tennis.

The stunning performance not only placed BOUESTI prominently on the national sporting map but also signaled the emergence of a new powerhouse in university sports.

Speaking on the feat of Team BOUESTI, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa described the outing as a triumphant debut and a testimony to the resilience, determination, and rising excellence of BOUESTI. He praised the athletes, coaches and sports Unit for their commitment, noting that the University will continue to invest in sports development.
