UNN releases results of affiliate programmes

...As 8 students bag first class honours in Ikere campus

The University of Nigeria, Nsukka has announced the release of results of the 2018/2019 final year degree examinations of the regular degree students, a programme affiliation with the defunct College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti now Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti.   According to an official statement signed by the UNN Registrar, Dr. Chris Igbokwe, 8 students had first Class honours, 256 graduated with 2nd Class Upper Division and  436 students graduated with 2nd Class Lower Division. A further break down of the results showed that  78 students graduated with 3rd Class honours while 6 students had pass. 

While commenting on the development, the Vice Chancellor, Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa said the brilliant academic performance of the students was an attestation to the high academic standard of the institution even when it was still a College of Education. He noted that the institution has a crop of intellectually sound workforce that could compete favorably with their counterparts in other Universities. He said the school would continue to justify the confidence reposed in it even now that it has become a full-fledged University.  The Vice Chancellor said he was delighted to know that the students that had first class took active parts in Students’ Union activities while on campus adding that did not make them to lose focus.

It would be recalled that prior to its upgrading to a University, the erstwhile College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti had been running degree programmes in affiliation with the University of Nigeria, Nsukka since 1992.
