SSANU BOUESTI Branch formally inaugurated

The Senior Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti branch has been formally inaugurated.

The inauguration was performed by the National Vice President, South West Zone, Comrade Abdussobor Salaam on behalf of the  National President of SSANU, Comrade Muhammad Ibrahim.  He congratulated the University Community over the various achievements recorded in less than a year and charged the SSANU members to be responsible and cooperate in achieving the goals of the University with a call on the Management to prioritize the welfare of staff as a major way for industrial peace.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ibitola Makinde, assured the various unions within the University of Management’s support and sued for cooperation in taking the institution to international standard.

The Branch Chairman, Mr. Julius Olowolafe thanked the national body and members of SSANU in BOUESTI for their support and assured them that his administration would justify the confidence reposed in him. The letter of recognition and copies of the constitution of the association were later presented to the Chairman, Comrade Julius Olowolafe.

There were goodwill messages from the Chairmen of ASUU and NASU of BOUESTI with a promise to work in solidarity.

The transition of the Senior Staff Union of Colleges of Education in Nigeria (SSUCOEN) to Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities was as a result of the upgrading of the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti to a University.

The BOUESTI branch Executive Council would run the affairs of the association for the next one year to ensure stability before another election would be conducted as directed by the National Administrative Council of SSANU.
